CARE International Indonesia, an international Non-Government Organization, is implementing Green KDP project to introduce environmental awareness and management into community planning in three regencies of South Sulawesi. CARE International Indonesia under its Green KDP project is presently seeking a consultant to implement the following activity.

GRAPHICS DESIGNER FOR CIE MATERIALS

Introduction:
Environmental problems in South Sulawesi are driven mainly by unsustainable development with impacts on forest resources, weather and climate changes, water, soil, coastal ecosystems, and agricultural production systems. Environmental issues also include the management of conservation areas and efforts to rehabilitate degraded forest and lands. The impacts can be observed in the form of landslides, flooding, droughts, pollution, and water scarcity, leading to a reduction in carrying capacity and other problems, including adverse effects on human health.
The Greed KDP project addresses these problems through a combination of training and awareness-raising. Since many environmental problems are extremely local, or the solutions user-specific (i.e. fishermen, farmers, women), general information through mass media outlets is insufficient to change behavior to more sustainable practices. To address this, Care Indonesia is recruiting a consultant to develop a number Communication, Information and Education media which applicable to the village level or sub-districts, targeting specific information to specific user groups.

Objectives:
The objectives of CIE (Communication, Information and Education) materials are to:
- To sensitize the program among the target group and stakeholders of green KDP
- To generate awareness and participation of key players and stakeholders of Green KDP

Scope of work :
The consultant will work closely with Awareness Coordinator to develop communication strategy for awareness rising within the project area. The assignment will include but not necessarily be limited to the following:
a. Develop short documentary film of environmental situation in South Sulawesi specifically in three project area.
b. Develop print, audio and video materials for project information dissemination.
Assignment Periode
The assignment is output based agreement within the period of July 24th to 24th August 2008.

Expected Output
Within the assignment period, the consultant is expected to deliver the following output:

1. One short documentary film which presenting an overview of environmental situation in South Sulawesi.
2. One design of each outreach materials such us; poster, leaflet/brochure and billboard or backdrop which contain project information

REQUIREMENTS:
· University degree in communications, journalism, international relations or equivalent combination of education and work experiences
· Experience of about 2-3 years Knowledge of graphic software like Corel Draw, Photoshop, illustrator etc.
· Demonstrated experience designing and producing outreach materials (Brochures, leaflet, billboard or backdrops)
· Demonstrated experience Making script and video documentation.
· Having experience working with NGO is Preferably
