World Bank 2008 Essay Competition

Essay Competition 2008The International Essay Competition 2008 has been launched. (www.essaycompetition.org)
Topic: What Can You Do to Shape the City of Your Dreams? Submissions are
accepted until March 23.
For the fifth time, youth aged 18-25 from all countries all the world are
invited to share their concrete ideas on development issues and win awards of
5,000 USD and 1,000 USD. Essays can be submitted in English, French, Spanish,
and, for the first time, in Arabic and Portuguese.

Essay Competition 2008 is co-organized by the World Bank, the Cities Alliance
and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As in previous years, it is
implemented in partnership with World Bank Public Information Centers, as well
as external academic and civil society organizations working for and with youth.
Last year, 2,240 youth from over 130 countries submitted essays on the subject
of corruption and good governance.
